  • The Louisville Animal Ordinance requires licenses or permits for the categories listed in this application. Each separate location must be licensed separately, inspected and meet the requirements of ordinance §91.023, prior to the license or permit being issued.

    Licenses or permits are effective July 1, 2021 and valid for one year. Licensed entities are subject to periodic inspections of public areas during business hours for the purpose of verifying compliance with the terms and conditions of the ordinance.

    The license or permit issued from this application will be valid from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

    For applications received after July 10, 2021, there will be a $15 late fee.

    *Once the inspection has been completed and you have met all requirements of the Louisville Animal Ordinance, you should receive your license or permit by mail in approximately 14 business days. Please, contact us if you have questions at animals@louisvilleky.gov.
